No waiting for Seahawks' season tickets

There is no wait to buy Seahawks season tickets for the first time in four years.

Seattle announced Tuesday it was increasing the number of season tickets available to 62,000, an increase of 1,000 from last season. About 1,800 season tickets remain available.

The team has had a waiting list for season tickets since June 2006 when it capped season-ticket sales following the Super Bowl season. It was the first time since the early 1990s the team had a waiting list.

That waiting list isn't exactly gone per se. Those who didn't opt to buy tickets when offered the chance earlier this offseason remain on the list, but for the first time in four years there is no wait to buy season tickets.

Seattle has sold out 60 consecutive games at Qwest Field, but has gone 9-27 the previous two seasons. Single-game seats will go on sale Aug. 2, but the additional 1,000 season tickets offered this year will cut into the number of those seats offered.
