CenturyLink logo, messages will start appearing at Sounders FC games at Qwest Field
Qwest Field's name and logos aren't changing, for now, but Sounders FC fans will notice some differences later this month.

Signs of change will start appearing at Qwest Field later this month at Sounders FC matches.
The change is the result of the merger between Qwest and CenturyLink that took effect April 1. The two companies will operate under the CenturyLink name, and the sponsorship items for Sounders FC will bear a new logo beginning later this month.
The Qwest Field name and logos aren't changing — at least not right now. But the company's sponsorship of the Sounders club — such as messages on the video scoreboard — will bear a new logo, one that likely could include the logos of both Qwest and CenturyLink.
"CenturyLink is excited to become a vital part of the Seattle community, the Seahawks, Sounders FC, and incredible atmosphere fans of both teams provide," said Brian Stading, president of CenturyLink's Northwest Region, in a statement. "Transitional branding with sponsorship items inside Qwest Field begins in late April at the Sounders FC games. Fans will notice a new look to existing Qwest ads and promotions with this transitional branding."
Using the term "transitional branding" probably means this isn't the last of the sponsorship changes.
Qwest purchased the naming rights to the stadium in 2004 in a sponsorship deal that runs through 2014, according to the Seahawks.
