RENTON — The long-awaited debut of Percy Harvin in a Seahawks uniform will have to wait at least another week.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll said after practice Saturday that Harvin, a receiver acquired in the offseason from Minnesota, will not play Monday night when the Seahawks are in St. Louis.

Harvin, who had hip surgery Aug. 1, returned to practice this week, but Carroll said he was rested later in the week as the team continues to work him back slowly.

“We’re managing his rehabilitation and trying to do it as really right (as they can),’’ Carroll said. “We worked him hard and then rested him and then will continue to do that until his conditioning has caught up and he’s ready to go.’’

Carroll said Harvin will again be on a “day-to-day’’ status next week.

Carroll said Harvin “did fine’’ when he practiced this week.

“He looked great when we were working him and then we needed to rest him to make sure he can handle the workload,’’ Carroll said.

• Seattle will get back middle linebacker Bobby Wagner after a high ankle sprain suffered against Indianapolis on Oct. 6. He missed the past two games.

• Receiver Golden Tate, limited early in the week with a shoulder injury, will play.
