49ers’ Kaepernick raves about receiving corps
Colin Kaepernick: The 49ers quarterback stood near the team’s practice field in Santa Clara, Calif., and professed his innocence regarding an April incident with a woman in Miami and looking forward to the 2014 NFL season.
“I did nothing wrong in that incident, so I want to do everything I can to let the D.A. close this matter,” Kaepernick said in his first media session with Bay Area reporters since the NFC title defeat in Seattle.
Kaepernick raved about his upgraded receiving corps, and he and favorite target Michael Crabtree looked in sync on the second day of organized team activities.
“It’s picking up where we left off. Also at this point, he’s healthier than where he was,” Kaepernick said of Crabtree. “He’s had ... more time to spend running and getting in shape and working on routes. It’s always exciting to have (No.) 15 on the field.”
Said 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh: “I really expect a real breakout year for Colin.”
