A report from the NFL Network said Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn will be named the next head coach of the Atlanta Falcons in the coming weeks. Multiple outlets are also confirming the report.

Quinn, 44, is scheduled to meet with the Falcons for a second interview on Monday, according to NFL.com, but that Falcons officials have told people they will hire him, despite having to wait until after the Super Bowl to finalize the deal.

Quinn came to the Seahawks before the 2013 season from the University of Florida to replace defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, who became head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In two seasons under Quinn, the Seahawks’ defense has been the best in the NFL in multiple categories.

Quinn interviewed for the Jets, Bears, Bills and 49ers head coaching vacancies in the past few weeks.

If Quinn is hired, Kyle Shanahan is expected to join him as his offensive coordinator to help complete the staff. Detroit defensive coordinator Teryl Austin had also interviewed for the Atlanta vacancy.
