Sean Morey retires on eve of training camp

Sean Morey has retired on the eve of Seattle's training camp. Morey is a veteran wide receiver, but was signed by the Seahawks in the offseason to be a special-teams mainstay.
Morey entered the NFL in 1999 out of Brown, drafted by New England while Pete Carroll was the team's coach.
• The team's roster includes 82 players, meaning the two first-round picks are not under contract. The roster makes no mention of players who will start training on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
There was no addition to Seattle's roster, and as Mike Sando of ESPN's NFC West blog pointed out, that likely means that David Hawthorne has decided to sign his one-year tender with the team.
