Seahawks punching above their weight

Seahawks start fresh with a complete performance
By Jerry Brewer | The Seattle Times
It's hard to describe just how odd a 3-6 record the Seahawks have.
After all, two of their three victories have come against a pair of the better teams in the league in Baltimore and the New York Giants. That makes Seattle like the exact opposite of this seasons Washington Huskies, who'll pulverize the Pac-12 palookas they're supposed to beat and then turn in JV performances whenever the opponents bears a national numerical ranking. Nebraska, Stanford, Oregon and USC are the only ranked opponents the Huskies have faced and they've lost those games by a combined score of 190-93.
Meanwhile, two of Seattle's two victories have come in games when it was considered significantly outclassed. The Giants and the Ravens are two of the 10 NFL teams that currently have won six games or more.
Seattle is one of only five teams in the league with victories over two of those teams who are 6-3 or better this season. The other four teams give you an idea of just how much above its weight class Seattle has been punching in those upsets. Here are the five NFL teams who have beaten two or more of the 10 NFL teams currently at 6-3 or better:
|Packers (8-0)||Ravens (6-3)||49ers (8-1)||Saints (7-3)||Seahawks (3-6)|
|They've beaten:||They've beaten:||They've beaten:||They've beaten:||They've beaten:|
|New Orleans (7-3)||Pittsburgh (7-2)||Cincinnati (6-3)||Chicago (6-3)||N.Y. Giants (6-3)|
|Chicago (6-3)||Houston (7-3)||Detroit (6-3)||Houston (7-3)||Baltimore (6-3)|
|*Beat Steelers twice||N.Y. Giants (6-3)|
