Matt Barkley in Seattle, but only as a fan

Because apparently he was there.
Now, before everyone gets in a tizzy about what that means for Seattle, its future plans at quarterback and the possibility of choosing Barkley, who has asked the NFL draft advisory board for input on where he might be chosen, let's remember a few things:
1) NFL teams can't recruit incoming players to their program.
At least not until after the seven-round draft concludes. You don't woo players in the NFL, you choose them in the draft, and that requires that nobody with an earlier pick chooses him first.
2) Barkley has the right everyone else does to attend an NFL game.
It's not written into the Constitution, per se, but everyone has that chance. According to the Seahawks, Barkley didn't attend the game as their guest.
3) There are some pretty straightforward explanations for why he might be in Seattle.
His girlfriend plays soccer at Seattle Pacific University, and Seattle Times columnist Steve Kelley wrote about their trip to Nigeria, which was made last Christmas.
And now that all those pesky procedural elements are out of the way, you can now commence all matter of tin-foil hat speculation regarding Barkley and the Seahawks given the fact coach Pete Carroll recruited Barkley to USC.
