Dolphins, Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn

Peyton Manning won't be playing for Miami

No word on where Peyton Manning will be playing in 2012, but we know a team where he won't be playing: the Miami Dolphins.

This matters in Seattle for the very simple reason the Dolphins need a quarterback one way or another, and if it's not Manning, well that increases the likelihood Miami is going to go with Matt Flynn, the Packers backup who has plenty of experience with Joe Philbin, the Dolphins new coach. Philbin was the Packers offensive coordinator prior to getting that gig in Miami.

After Flynn's visit to Seattle, he is scheduled to head to Miami, and while he's not taking a crowbar with him to South Florida, there's no doubt he's got some leverage as he heads down there.
