Report: Richard Sherman's appeal scheduled for Dec. 14

What's the news: Cornerback Richard Sherman has an appeal hearing scheduled for Dec. 14, according to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter. He is appealing a positive test for a banned substance that violated the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, which would result in a four-game suspension. There has been no date set for an appeal for cornerback Brandon Browner, according to Schefter.

What it means: Both cornerbacks will be available for this week's game against Arizona, and likely for the Dec. 16 game against Buffalo in Toronto, which would be played two days after the hearing. That's an inference based on the fact the league generally imposes suspensions early in a week to give the teams time to prepare for who will and won't be available. It's not impossible that Sherman could be suspended immediately after his hearing it's more likely that if there were to be discipline forthcoming, it would be imposed the following week.
