Postcard from Lisbon
Posted by Gabriel Campanario
Sketched July 22, 10:52 a.m.
I'm back in town after a couple of weeks of travel, which included a few days in Lisbon to attend the 2nd International Urban Sketchers Symposium, an event I also helped organize. This steep and narrow street in the Portuguese capital reminded me of Seattle. I know, we don't have electric trams going up and down our downtown streets -- at least not until First Hill Streetcar opens, but the view of the water at the very end felt a little bit like seeing the Puget Sound in the background. The only difference is that the light in Lisbon creates a much brighter color palette, specially when it shines over red-tiled roofs and yellow and blue tiles that adorn many buildings.
