Father, son share hoops and hopes at KeyArena

I've watched more basketball in the past month than ever in my life, thanks to my 9-year-old son.
We bonded over the NBA playoffs and finals, cheering every slam dunk by the Miami Heat and talking about LeBron James.
Then, last weekend, we saw the Storm defeat the Washington Mystics at KeyArena.
The excitement of the live game left me hoping Chris Hansen will bring an NBA team to Seattle sooner rather than later. I never saw the Sonics play here, and it was tricky to explain to my son why the team left or what the future of KeyArena may be if a new stadium is built in Sodo.
Nevertheless, the Storm game was a treat for him, and a bit of a milestone, too: He's now been to games of all the major pro teams in Seattle.
But I know he won't be satisfied until the Sonics are back. "I wish they still played here," he said.
