Daidra Brown had 22 points and Sylvia Shephard added 19 as the Seattle University women's basketball team won its seventh straight home game, nipping visiting Texas State 73-71 in overtime Thursday night at the Connolly Center.

The Redhawks improved to 16-9 overall and lead the Western Athletic Conference at 13-3.

"Obviously this was the tale of two halves," said Seattle coach Joan Bonvicini. "After halftime, we figured out that we needed to be a lot more aggressive and rebound better."

The Bobcats led by 14 points at the half. Seattle started the second half on a 15-6 run.

Diamond Ford had 22 points, including a huge three-pointer with 32 seconds left in regulation, for Texas State.

Kacie Sowell missed the game due to a sprained ankle but is expected back Saturday against Texas-San Antonio.
