Dalton Hurd hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to propel Seattle University to a 7-4 nonconference baseball victory over Washington State at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.

The Redhawks (30-18) took a 2-0 lead on Brock Carpenter’s two-run single.

Washington State (15-28) gained the lead a half inning later, 3-2, on back-to-back RBI doubles by Stefan Van Horn and Jack Strunc, but a run walked home and a sacrifice fly put Seattle U back on top, 4-3, through three.

The Cougars tied the score in the sixth as Justin Harrer singled home Ty Johnson with two outs.

For WSU, senior Patrick McGrath collected two hits and Van Horn drove in two runs.
