REDMOND — The wife of a former Seahawks football player has been arrested by King County deputies in response to a domestic-violence complaint.
Tina Eaton, 33, was arrested at her home near Redmond on Sunday after officers responded to a report of a dispute.
Officers found former Seahawks tackle Chad Eaton with a bloody nose from a punch or slap to the face.
Under state domestic-violence laws, officers are required to make an arrest of the aggressor in such disputes if the offense occurred within four hours of the report, said Sgt. John Urquhart, sheriff's public-information officer.
The woman weighs more than 100 pounds less than her husband, who was listed at 6 feet 5 and about 300 pounds during his playing days, but the laws left officers no choice about making the arrest, Urquhart said.
She was booked and released at the King County Jail, and the King County Prosecutor's Office is considering whether to bring assault charges in the case.
Chad Eaton played football for Washington State and nine seasons in the NFL, including three with the Seahawks, before retiring after the 2004 season.
