Jeff Gordon won't stop speaking his mind because of a hefty fine against a fellow driver.

Gordon says he'll remain one of NASCAR's most outspoken drivers despite seeing Denny Hamlin's $25,000 fine for criticizing the Gen-6 race car. NASCAR's disciplinary decision left many drivers wondering what they're allowed to say.

"I'm going to go about it the same way that I always do," said Gordon, the four-time series champion. "I feel like I try to think before I say anything. I try to think if this is going to be something that is going to negatively affect the sport ... and is it worth it?"

Although Gordon will continue to say what he likes, you won't catch him echoing Hamlin's worries about the Gen-6 car just yet. That's because Gordon remembers the work necessary to get the Gen-5 "Car of Tomorrow" into top shape.

"Somebody is going to have to explain to me Gen-5 exactly, because I don't remember one through four," Gordon joked.

"Anyway, I think that we all learned through that experience that while that car didn't drive great, it didn't look great, but it actually didn't race bad, yet we were very critical of that car," Gordon added. "Now we have a car that looks great, drives good, and we've done two races. I think it's a little early to be gauging where we're at from how it races."
