'The Mindy Project'

Mindy Kaling, the Emmy Award-nominated writer/producer from "The Office," stars in this new series about a single doctor obsessed with romantic comedies. The pilot is breezy and funny — and introduces us to a capable cast of comedic actors (Chris Messina, Ed Weeks, Stephen Tobolowsky) and situations. Series premiere 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on Fox (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
