Thursday TV Picks: ‘1600 Penn’ on NBC
TV picks for Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, include the new sitcom “1600 Penn” on NBC, the reality competition “Project Runway All Stars” on Lifetime and the talk show “Kathy” Bravo.
Tonight in Prime Time
After airing a preview episode a few weeks back, this NBC comedy returns tonight with new episodes. Bill Pullman plays the (mostly) stately President Gilchrist, Jenna Elfman plays the First Lady, but the majority of the comedy comes from Josh Gad (Broadway’s “The Book of Mormon”) as the goofy/clumsy eldest son. “The Big Bang Theory,” 8 p.m. (CBS): As the guys don costumes and go on a road trip to a comic-book convention, the ladies decide to stay home and try to interpret a comic book.
“Mysteries at the Museum,” 9 p.m. (Travel): Concrete tied to the rise and fall of a Los Angeles hero; a taxidermied dog that prowled the lines in World War I; an antique gaming table said to be imbued with a sinister curse.
“Project Runway All Stars,” 9 p.m. (Lifetime): The designers are allowed a day of sketching in Paris at the Eiffel Tower; the designers must create couture gowns.
“Kathy,” 10 p.m. (Bravo): Actresses Liza Minnelli and Jane Lynch.
