It’s been an odd fourth season for Ryan Murphy’s musical comedy series. Several of the original members of New Directions have graduated and moved away (but their story lines continue), while new characters have joined the group (to mixed results). As the group heads to regionals, let’s hope the characters can transcend their tangled personal lives, and just sing. Season finale, 9 p.m. Thursday on Fox (

“The Vampire Diaries,” 8 p.m. (CW): Caroline tries to distract Elena from her new obsession; Sheriff Forbes tells Stefan and Damon that someone has been attacking patients at the hospital; during a violent wind storm, ghosts appear.

“Grey’s Anatomy,” 9 p.m. (ABC): The doctors prepare for a superstorm headed for Seattle; as Owen becomes closer to Ethan, his desire to be a parent gets stronger; Meredith and her baby are put in danger.

“Monumental Mysteries,” 9 p.m. (Travel): A tombstone for a young woman; the man behind an elaborate scam; a prison escape.

“Person of Interest,” 9:01 p.m. (CBS): Finch and Reese team up with unexpected allies as they race to fix the machine; as Detective Carter tries to apprehend Cal Beecher’s murderer, she finds herself up against HR — a criminal organization.

“Small Town Security,” 10 p.m. (AMC): The gang deals with the community’s reaction to the television show; Chief gives Lt. a birthday present.
