Sunday TV Picks: ‘The Newsroom’ on HBO
TV picks for Sunday, July 21, 2013, include “The Newsroom” on HBO, “The Killing” on AMC and “Crossing Lines” on NBC.
Tonight in Prime Time
Aaron Sorkin’s behind-the-scenes drama about a (fictional) cable news show is nothing, if not divisive. You love it or loathe it. It’s fascinating to watch this great cast (Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher Jr., Olivia Munn, Thomas Sadoski) work with Sorkin’s rapid-fire dialogue, but when the story lines get too soapy or preachy, you may find yourself rolling your eyes. 10 p.m. Sunday on HBO (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
