June 22 TV Picks: Premiere of final season of ‘True Blood’
TV picks for Sunday, June 22, 2014, include “True Blood” on HBO, “Drop Dead Diva” on Lifetime and “Penny Dreadful” on Showtime.
Tonight in Prime Time
The seventh (and final) season of this alternatively scary and comic series begins in the middle of a big fight between Hep-V infected vampires and humans. Lots of blood is spilled, and the surviving characters head off in separate directions. Oh, but there’s plenty more nudity, sex and violence to come. Here’s hoping the show runners can tie things up in a nice, comprehensible (probably red) bow before driving a stake through the series’ heart. Season premiere, 9 p.m. Sunday, June 22, on HBO (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
