Sultan man killed in Monroe-area traffic accident

Posted by John de Leon

A 18 19-year-old Sultan man was killed in a single-car accident that occurred sometime overnight in the 11600 block of Woods Lake Road in unincorporated Monroe.

A passerby spotted the wreckage of a 1993 Ford Probe around 7 this morning and called 911. The victim was apparently driving west on Woods Lake Road when he missied a curve and struck a tree. The car was about 10 feet off the road. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. No other vehicles or people were involved in the crash, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
