Gunfire near Seattle Center results in charges against teen

A 16-year-old boy who police say participated in gunfire at a nightclub near Seattle Center last weekend was charged Wednesday with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.
Seattle police say the teen was involved in a gang dispute outside Club Diamond, 332 5th Ave. N., on March 19 when shots were fired. Nobody was struck by gunfire, prosecutors said.
A club security guard told police that two large groups of youths, one dressed predominantly in red and the other in dark colored clothing, were "posturing and yelling back and forth," according to court charging papers.
After shots were fired, the teen and other youths walked away from the club.
Responding gang unit officers found a loaded semi-automatic pistol on the teen, charging papers said. The gun had been reported stolen.
The teen is scheduled to be arraigned in King County Juvenile Court on Thursday. If convicted he faces a standard sentence range of 0-30 days in juvenile detention, prosecutors said.
