Man killed in Lynnwood area crash is identified

Posted by Jill Kimball

The man who died in a Lynnwood-area car crash Wednesday night has been identified.

According to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, he was David Joseph Troutman, 55, of Lynnwood. He died of severe impact to the head when his car crashed into a tree.

Troutman was taking his 1996 Nissan 300ZX for a test drive in unincorporated Lynnwood with a man from Missoula, Mont., who was interested in buying it. At about 5 p.m. Wednesday, Troutman was speeding down the 2100 block of Cypress Way when he lost control of the car on a curve, went into a ditch and hit a tree. The sun had set and it was raining.

The Montana man, who was in the passenger’s seat, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Harborview Medical Center.
