'91 Honda Accord state's most frequently stolen car in 2010

The 1991 Honda Accord was the most popular car among auto thieves in 2010, according to a list released Tuesday by National Insurance Crime Bureau's (NICB) annual "Hot Wheels Report." Previously, the 1992 Honda Accord was the state's most frequently stolen car.
According to the NICB, certain models of older cars and trucks are popular with thieves because of the value of their parts and they are easier to steal. Newer model vehicles often have more sophisticated alarms and anti-theft systems.
Spokane ranked fourth-highest in the nation for auto theft rates in 2010, up from number 18 in 2009, according to the bureau. Overall, auto thefts in Washington increased by 9.8 percent last year over 2009, the bureau previously reported.
