Dynamic Duel podcast: Futbol extravaganza

Posted by Jerry Brewer

Soccer wonk Matt Johnson, the executive producer of the Seahawks Radio Network and host of Sounders FC Weekly, joins the show for our futbol extravaganza episode, covering everything from the Women's World Cup to a preview of the Sounders FC match with Manchester United.

The interview with Matt -- which is both informative and hilarious -- begins at the 22:07 mark. Before that, our three-round bout features discussions of the following topics:

-- When the NFL lockout is lifted and free agency begins, what is the first move the Seahawks should make?

-- Epic (and repetitive) futility: Yet another discussion of the Mariners' offensive woes.

-- Parachute journalism and the Women's World Cup.

You can also check out our new Dynamic Duel page for all of the past episodes.

And one final note: At the end of the show, we talk for a second week about a plan to visit Norm's Eatery & Ale House in Fremont. Why visit the pub? Because it is selling beers for Chone Figgins' batting average (currently .184). I've challenged Danny to a drink-off -- him vs. his ego -- to see how many of those beers he can consume and stay functional enough to walk from my car to his house when I drop him off. The 5-foot-7 O'Neil thinks he can drink nine.

Agree? Disagree?

Over the next few days, we'll schedule a meeting at Norm's. Readers are invited. We'd love to meet those of you who can attend and have a laidback sports conversation. I will announce the time for this Norm's meet-up as soon as Danny and I go over our schedules.
