The Peace Arch border crossing between Washington and British Columbia fully reopened Thursday morning. The crossing at Blaine along Interstate-5 had been closed after the shooting of a Canadian border guard Tuesday and the suicide of the gunman at the scene.

Canadian authorities opened the northbound lanes into Canada at 8 a.m. Thursday. U.S. authorities had reopened southbound lanes, for entry into the United States, on Wednesday afternoon.

Traffic had been diverted to other nearby border crossings. .
