The Times collected 100 media reports of airport-security breaches since fall 2002, when TSA screeners took over. Screeners say that's a fraction of the incidents, and most are never disclosed.

A woman with a Swiss Army knife inside her carry-on bag made it through screening and entered the concourse. Screeners found the woman at a boarding gate. All passengers had to be rescreened. [4/01/2004]
