Washington's military might

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton

Repairs and overhauls ships and submarines and is the only certified nuclear refueling installation on the West Coast. It is the Navy's largest and most diverse shipyard and one of the state's largest industrial installations. The facility was established in 1891, and until three years ago, when the Navy created Naval Station Bremerton, it served as both a shipyard and a naval station. It is located on 179 acres in Sinclair Inlet.

Features six dry docks, seven permanent piers and 130 buildings.
