Pennies from heaven

Seattle residents could potentially save millions of dollars in reservoirs, piping and storm drains if they used more of the water that falls from their roofs. This is a schematic of a simple system that puts gutter water into a covered rain barrel where it could be used for watering lawns and gardens, and flushing toilets.
