Ahmed Alghamdi has been identified by witnesses as one of five hijackers who were at the Arlington Department of Motor Vehicles on Aug. 2. DMV officials said all five were there seeking Virginia identity cards. FBI records show that Alghamdi apparently lived briefly in northern Virginia. Immigration records in the Philippines show he made several visits during the past two years. U.S. officials say Alghamdi and three other hijackers - Waleed Alshehri, Saeed Alghamdi and Hamza Alghamdi - have links to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network. |
