Paula Bock writes about Northwest people and places as a staff writer for Pacific, the Sunday magazine of the Seattle Times. Before joining the Times in 1990, she wrote about civil rights, immigrants and the disadvantaged for the Patriot Ledger (Quincy, MA).

Bock has also written for the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, the Hartford Courant, the Boston Phoenix , Let's Go budget travel guides (France, England and USA) and, a long time ago, Children's Express news service. She has received numerous national and regional awards for feature writing, investigative reporting and education coverage. Bock grew up in Hartford, CT, graduated from Harvard University and studied as a Rotary Fellow in Taiwan. She is co-president of the Seattle chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association.
