Rosa Mungía, 34, seated, learns how to pronounce the days of the week in her English-as-a-second-language class. Many Mexican farmworkers say not being able to speak the language is one of the their biggest frustrations. Between their irregular hours of seasonal work in the fields and caring for their families, many find it difficult to make time for classes. A determined woman, Mungía has earned a GED while caring for five children, working in the fields and running a home that is also a boarding house for family and friends from Pajacuarán, Mexico.
