Resolving a product complaint with a manufacturer or retail outlet can prove frustrating for a consumer.

A few options exist, however, to help consumers deal with a product or service complaint.

A wide range of websites feature consumer-complaint information, from general complaint-filing guidelines to product-service specific areas and seeking legal assistance.

Here are just a few of the websites: Lays out how to go about filing a complaint about airline service.

Better Business Bureau: Accepts complaints from consumers in a variety of areas, including new cars and identity theft.

Federal Trade Commission: Provides “Complaint Assistance” for consumers. Features guide for finding legal help with consumer problems.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA): Site to report problems with food or medical products.
