Tuesday TV Picks: ‘Splash’ on ABC
This new reality-competition series follows 10 celebrities (including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Chuy Bravo and Nicole Eggert) as they train and compete in regulation platform and springboard diving. Yes, this is what one of the major networks is giving us for prime-time entertainment. To quote Dave Barry, “I’m not making this up.” Series premiere, 8 p.m. Tuesday on ABC (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).

“Pretty Little Liars,” 8 p.m. (ABC Family): Despite Spencer’s brave face, Aria, Hanna and Emily remain concerned about their friend’s health; shocking revelations are revealed.
“Inside the Actors Studio,” 8 p.m. (Bravo): Comic and actress Tina Fey discusses her comedy roots in Chicago, being a writer for “Saturday Night Live,’’ hosting the Golden Globe Awards and impersonating Sarah Palin.
“NCIS: Los Angeles,” 9 p.m. (CBS): Callen and Sam work with NCIS: Red, a mobile team of agents, when a murder weapon in Idaho matches one used in a national security case in Los Angeles.
“The Mindy Project,” 9:30 p.m. (Fox): When Mindy’s friends and co-workers inadvertently throw her a bad birthday party, she storms out and celebrates with a newfound group of friends; Jeremy and Danny compete for the attention of one of Mindy’s friends.
“Smash,” 10 p.m. (NBC): Conflicts arise as Karen, Tom, Julia and Derek adjust to new surroundings; Eileen’s daughter may be the key to saving “Bombshell.”
“Real Husbands of Hollywood,” 10 p.m. (BET): Double date night for Boris and Duane with their wives.
